Scottish Ballet tells the story of one of Scotland’s most famous figures – Mary, Queen of Scots. Through the eyes of Queen Elizabeth I of England we explore their transforming relationship. We follow Elizabeth and her perceived and imagined relationship with Mary. Blending history with legend, this world premiere centres the stories— the true and the fictional —that surround Mary’s life and legacy.
Guest artist Charlotta Öfverholm, as the older Elizabeth, brings her rich storytelling expertise to the company’s dancers. An iconic story, unconventionally told, adding to the canon of rich, contemporary repertoire which is uniquely Scottish Ballet.
